The Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to bring objective, scientific information related to cool surfaces to critical discussions and informed decisions about the impacts of heat islands, extreme heat, and energy use in the built environment.

In pursuit of this mission, the CRRC operates third-party rating programs for the radiative properties of roofing and exterior wall products; conducts technical research; and provides education to the public. We work with the news media to increase public awareness of cool surfaces as a means to enhance resilience to extreme heat.
