The CRRC Board of Directors created the Education Committee to provide guidance on the CRRC’s educational activities for the improvement of public awareness and comprehension of cool surfaces.
The Education Committee is responsible for:
Creating audience-appropriate educational materials
Identifying education opportunities
Working in collaboration with other CRRC committees (e.g., Ratings, Codes, and Standards; Technical) in the dissemination of information related to cool surface education
The Education Committee meets approximately 4-5 times per year, and meetings are virtual and/or held in person. Visit Meetings and Events for a list of scheduled meetings.

The CRRC is currently seeking members to join the Education Committee. Candidates should be familiar with the concept of solar-reflective building materials and the urban heat island effect. Past experience with education and/or outreach is desired. Committee members should be willing to travel to meetings and conferences, where feasible.
Individuals who are interested in joining the Education Committee must submit a short summary of their qualifications and expertise to Sarah Schneider at [email protected]. Committee appointments will be made by the Board of Directors. Candidates must be CRRC members by the time of their appointment to the Education Committee. Candidates who fall under CRRC General Interest Membership will have their annual member dues waived.
